      This is a great car! We’ve had Mazdas before and we’ve always been pleased with them, but this is the best yet. Lots of cool features, great ride, unbelievable fuel economy (much better than projected). We are getting older and needed the SUV height for easier access but didn’t want a full size SUV. I’d always had Lexus vehicles before we owned Mazdas and the Mazda obviously isn’t as luxurious but this vehicle is not shabby at all. The only issue so far is the leather seats are showing wear already. I’ve recommended this car to anyone who will listen. We were concerned about getting a new car the first year on the market but we’ve been very pleased.…

    • I would still pick this over the Kia Seltos

      Other people have already talked about how this model is great, so I'm not going into details. I'm just here to talk about why I think this is better than the Kia Seltos, another obviously excellent vehicle for this segment. It seems to be the majority opinion now that the Seltos is slightly better, because of (1) the larger room/cargo space, (2) low-end torque, (3) more gadgets. There are a lot of truth to that verdict, but the reality is more complicated. I'll just go ahead and say that the base trim of Mazda CX-30 absolutely blows the base trim of the Kia Seltos out of the water. Yes, it is slightly smaller but if I really wanted to sit adults in the back row a lot, I wouldn't be buying a subcompact SUV anyway. The superior low-end torque Seltos has only kicks in at the turbo trim (DCT too ... the non-turbo trims use CVTs lol), which costs 3k. I guess there are unlikely scenarios where your budget and preference put you precisely at that spot, but I was just looking for a subcompact SUV that meets my minimum requirement at the lowest price. Finally about the gadgets, I just don't really care. The simpler design philosophy probably provides more reliability in the long run, and it makes me feel like driving instead of machine-operating. I'd only change my decision if I were a city-dweller -- the mpg difference is significant in cities but virtually zero on highways.…

      An amazing little SUV. We own both an Audi Q3 and Q5 and the Mazda CX 30 Turbo Premium is in many ways superior to both. Quality is on a par with the Audi. Handling, acceleration and driver engagement superior to both; as is the infotainment system and the Apple/Android app (for remote start, location, lock and unlock etc.). Do yourself a favor and drive this little gem.…
